The creation of this e-Portfolio has allowed me to reflect on the work I have completed throughout the M.S. program as well as the growth that is evident from the projects completed at the start of the program versus the end. I have grown in foundational knowledge and technical skill, which has resulted in more effective designs both theoretically and visually. If I were to go back and revisit some of the artifacts, I would review the AECT standards more thoroughly and keep them in mind from the start. This would allow me to explicitly target those standards during the development process as opposed to reviewing the artifacts after the fact to ensure they reflect one of the standards.

Throughout the program, I have learned that education and available technologies are ever-changing and evolving. It evolves both over time and varies from situation to situation, which requires designers and practitioners to evolve and adapt as well in order to stay relevant and effective. This is why the skills of analysis and evaluation are emphasized throughout the program, as it has equipped students with the ability to research new technologies and select those appropriate for a given audience and environment. Additionally, while foundational knowledge of learning theories is important, we must remember that these can’t always be perfectly implemented in practice due to various constraints. Again, adaptation is key. This principle has never been more relevant, as the Covid-19 pandemic has shown that conditions can change rapidly. The call for new and increased technological applications and innovations in education during this time has certainly shown that eLearning design and technology is a rich field that will continue to develop as technology advances and as new needs emerge.
