Standard 4: Professional Knowledge and Skills

Candidates design, develop, implement, and evaluate technology-rich environments within a supportive community of practice

S. 4.1.

Collaborative Practice

Candidates collaborate with their peers and subject matter experts to analyze learners, develop and design instruction, and evaluate its impact on learners.

Artifact

EME 6613 / Spring 2020 / Final Project

For this group project, my team created a gamified weightlifting module in Storyline about proper technique for 3 different lifts. This module was designed for Exercise Science students at USF and created in collaboration with SMEs from the School of Exercise Science. For this module, I worked with my teammates to perform a front-end analysis of the audience and given materials, brainstorm ideas for how to effectively present the concepts, create flow charts and prototypes, and perform iterative testing with various participants to gather feedback. As far as development, I built the deadlift section as well as the vocabulary interaction in the introduction.

S. 4.2.

Leadership

Candidates lead their peers in designing and implementing technology-supported learning.

Artifact

EME 6235 / Fall 2019 / Final Project Plan

This artifact details the final project plan for the development and implementation of accessibility training for my place of work. The plan includes impact statement, audience analysis, product requirements, work breakdown structure, milestones, detailed schedule, and more. This artifact demonstrates my ability to lead a project while considering many factors and planning for unexpected setbacks.

S. 4.3.

Reflection on Practice

Candidates analyze and interpret data and artifacts and reflect on the effectiveness of the design, development and implementation of technology-supported instruction and learning to enhance their professional growth.

Artifact

EME 6613 / Spring 2020 / Final Paper

This artifact summarizes the entire development process of a weightlifting module my team created in Storyline, including rationale, design proofs, and evaluation and testing. A large part of the paper is the evaluation section, which outlines the testing procedures and reflects on the edits we were able to implement as well as those that we were not able to implement given the constraints. This artifact demonstrates my ability to reflect on the design process as well as the final product.

S. 4.4.

Assessing/Evaluating

Candidates design and implement assessment and evaluation plans that align with learning goals and instructional activities.
